Born from an idea of Eng. Achille Fortunato, Eolo trademark emerges for its small manufacturer fibreglass boats. From 120 crafts sold on the 70’s, it gets to almost 300 units at the beginning of the 80’s. The most representative boat was the famous “Alaua Girasole”, available in two versions. At the end of the 80’s an incomparable crisis in the nautical field put at risk many important shipyards. Even Eolo has a hard time : the owner decides then to sell his manufacturing plant as well all the models, except the trademark.
2000 is the year of rebirth with the new company NADIRMARINE : Eolo is represented at the International Genoa Boat Show with the new model 710 Cruiser. From that moment forward with the new model 650 day it’s the turning-point : a lot of demands get from all over Europe. This general sale increase drives production to 150 boats per year. Eolo trademark is living a wonderful success thanks to the management skills of its staff as well as the innovation and reliability of its product range.
The staff is composed of Mariachiara Fortunato who deal with the administration and foreign sales, her brother Gaetano Fortunato dealing the design along with his father ing.Achille Fortunato, and the italian sales, and Nicola Gaglio member of the company and responsible for the construction and the production.
Fortunato's family and the Yard Eolo, were, are and will always remain an example of how a small Italian company has successfully established itself by its own efforts, professionalism and competence in an area such as shipbuilding, which has always been one of the most difficult and demanding.
